Q. Where did you learn your love of bikes?
A. Grew up in a little town in Michigan, bikes were important from the first for me. When I was young my dad and his buddy started riding longer rides and we all got what were then known as 10-speeds. I finished my first century ride (100 miles) on a Schwinn Varsity in 1974 when I was 10 years old.

Q. How many bikes do you have?
A. Five. Pivot Mach 429 Trail mountain bike, custom Hunter Cycles adventure touring, Kona Unit singlespeed mountain bike, Kona Wo fat bike, and a mid-90's steel Stumpjumper with milk crate for a townie!

Q. What is your favorite local trail?
A. Hard to choose just one. But if I have to, call it Canyon Creek.

Q. What is your favorite trail outside of Salida?
A. Phil's World (Cortez, CO)

Q. What is your favorite post-ride food?
A. Something spicy. Thai, Indian, Mexican, but spicy!
