If you're looking for a bike that is a little bit XC and a little bit rock n' roll, look no further than the Hei Hei. Our Race Light 6061 Aluminum frame has been perfectly designed to be fast and strong. A 120mm fork keeps things controlled on the front end while the rear shock provides 100mm of travel and keeps the back end in check. A 12-speed drivetrain is the perfect complement to powerful hydraulic disc brakes and keeps the Hei Hei at the forefront of the most-wanted aluminum XC steeds. KONA 6061 ALUMINUM Kona 7005 and 6061 Aluminum alloys are used extensively throughout our fleet of mountain and asphalt bicycles. A tough, durable, light alloy, both Kona 7005 and 6061 deliver fantastic, reliable performance that lasts for thousands of rides. Much of our 7005/6061 tubing is butted and/or formed, meaning the tubing's wall thickness can be increased or decreased, as well as shaped, so we can fine-tune a particular frame's strength and ride characteristics depending on its intended application. INTERNAL HEADSET Bearing cups are actually pressed into the frame and are easily removable. An internal headset also reduces stack height, so the height of the stem and bars are more adjustable, giving the rider the best fit possible. TAPERED HEAD TUBE More girth at the bottom of the head tube better distributes shock force, prolonging the bearing life of the headset itself and eliminating brake shudder, while providing confident steering performance. The inherent strength of its triangular design also means a stronger steering position and improved balance, giving the rider more control in rough terrain. A zero-stack, tapered head tube also puts strength where the load is going—into the lower headset cup—maximizing bearing durability where it's needed. TUBELESS COMPATIBLE RIMS Tubeless rims allow for tires with more puncture resistance; the ability to run lower tire pressure, which provides better tire grip on the trail; lower rolling resistance; and weight savings over traditional tube and tire systems. 12x148mm AXLE 12x142mm, 12x148 and 12x157 rear axle standards provide two major advantages to the Kona rider: the 12mm diameter of the rear axle provides the rear hub and frame with a stiff interface, while the 142/148/157mm outer diameter of the hub allows the wheel to be quickly and properly positioned in the frame before the rear axle is inserted. For 2017, you'll see the 12x148 Boost standard in the mix. Boost spacing provides more tire clearance at the chainstay yoke, while the rear wheel is stiffer and more durable relative to a 12x142 thru-axle. FUSE INDEPENDENT SUSPENSION The Fuse Independent Suspension is designed to be as lightweight and efficient as possible, oriented specifically for the demands of the modern XC trail rider. Like all of our suspension platforms, the Fuse IS is designed around a single pivot with a predictable leverage ratio for a responsive, snappy feel. Built for our Hei Hei platform, the frame features a seat stay that relies on small degrees of frame flex rather than a pivot at the seat and chainstay junction. The result is an efficient, laterally stiff suspension system that takes weight savings to a new level.

What if we took everybody's favorite bike and made it a little slacker and little longer? Hell, what if we made it more progressive and coil compatible? And, that's exactly what we did for the Ripmo V2. Active ingredients include: 29" wheels, berm-defying cornering tendencies, and a love for long rides. The Ripmo and Ripmo AF share the same steep, 76-degree seat tube angle and a rangy but not stratospheric reach, which places riders centrally over the pedals. It makes for an efficient position that can go the long haul. The slack 64.9 headtube angle and 44mm reduced-off set fork doesn't wander while climbing, and doesn't hold you back descending. It works—all day up, all day down, all day in between. TRACTION TUNE Our custom-tuned front and rear suspension feature extra-light high-speed compression and rebound damping to deliver unparalleled traction. This allows the wheels to flutter through terrain like a trophy truck storming through a set of whoops. COIL COMPATIBLE The Ripmo V2 is compatible with both coil and air shocks due to a more progressive leverage rate. On the trail, it gives the suspension a supple feel throughout the entirety of the stroke, enhancing traction no matter how deep you dig. DROPPER POST CLEARANCE Mo' dropper, mo' better. On small frames, you can run 125 – 150mm, depending on your preference and inseam length. On Medium, Large, and X-Large, a 160mm—or, why not run a 185mm? Our shorter seat-tube lengths and low standovers allow you to choose your size based on your reach preference. TIRE CLEARANCE You can run overbuilt, chunky tires; you can run light, big volume fast tires, but whatever you run, know that you're not limited by width. BUSHINGS Tired of hitting "purchase" on another set of bearings each season? So were we. That's why we use bushings where they make sense, and bearings where they don't. The IGUS bushings in our lower link are lighter, stiffer, and virtually maintenance-free. We believe so strongly in them, we back them with a free lifetime replacement. LIGHTWEIGHT PREMIUM CARBON FOR EVERYONE All our bikes are built from the highest-grade materials and optimized for the best strength, weight, stiffness, and ride performance-no matter how much you spend. The Ripmo weighs a svelte 6.25 lbs with a DPX2 shock, and complete builds start at 28 lbs. INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING Bikes that look pretty on the outside should look pretty on the inside. We use carbon fiber tubes molded within each frame. Push the cable in, watch it pop out, a beautiful moment indeed. REMOVABLE ISCG MOUNT So, you're too fast for narrow-wide chain retention on its own? Challenge accepted. Our removable ISCG tabs allow shredders to bolt on a chain guide, while the rest of us can shave grams. PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT A polycarbonate downtube protector deflects debris, while molded rubber swing arm protectors keep things quiet and clean. And, our simple-yet-elegant linkage protectors stop mud and rocks thrown by the tire, keeping your beautiful bike beautiful.

Evolution of a Classic This latest iteration of the Trail 429 is evidence of our constant quest for peak performance. We’ve broadened its capabilities without sacrificing its legendary sharpness: slackening the head angle just enough, increasing the reach, and introducing a flip-chip to allow fine-tuning of the geometry toward either the rowdy or racy ends of the spectrum. All-Star Suspension Is it possible for a bike to be both razor-sharp and butter-smooth? Yes. The Trail 429 is proof. In order to wring every drop of potential out of 120mm, we’ve reworked the already stellar dw-link suspension to provide a more bottomless feel and allow for a greater range of tunability. The Trail 429 combines rocket ship pedaling performance with a plushness that genuinely feels like more travel than the numbers indicate. LONG DROPPER POST We use names like small, medium, and large to describe our sizing because it's easy to understand, but our ultra-low standovers and clearance for long droppers give you the ability to size based on reach. LIGHTWEIGHT PREMIUM CARBON, FOR EVERYONE Whether you order an XX1 or SLX kit, you'll get the same premium carbon fiber frame. All our bikes are built from the highest grade materials and optimized for the best strength, weight, stiffness, and ride performance. The Ripley weighs 5 lbs without shock. FORK OFFSET Sometimes, shorter is better. Instead of the typical 51mm offset, the new Ripley uses a 44mm offset. This gives you the stability of a slacker head angle while retaining the BMX like feel of, well, a Ripley. 2.6" TIRE CLEARANCE We pioneered the wide rim revolution a few years ago and inspired a new crop of wider 2.4"?- ?2.6" tires. When paired together, this combo can be run at ultra-low pressures that produce elbow-dragging cornering traction without sacrificing speed. REMOVABLE ISCG05 MOUNT There if you want it, removable if you don't. INTERNAL CABLE TUNNELS Internal cable routing used to be a pain in the ass but our internal tubes make routing easy. Just pop the housing through and it comes out the other end, no need for swear words or a pickset. PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT A thick rubber downtube protector deflects debris, while our chainstay protector features thick raised sections to help dampen chain slap noise. And our simple-yet-elegant linkage protectors stop mud and rocks thrown by the tire, keeping your beautiful bike beautiful. LIFETIME WARRANTY If it's our fault, we'll fix it. Simple as that.

Do Everything, and Do It Better The new Switchblade has a slacker head angle, steeper seat angle, increased reach and a longer wheelbase than its predecessor. Size-specific chainstays are tucked in and responsive but grow incrementally longer on larger frames. This translates to added stability at warp speeds while still maintaining the snap and pop that is ingrained in the Switchblade’s DNA. From Trail to Park The new Switchblade is light enough to pedal all day, but stout enough to run a Fox 38 without any worries. You can spin this rig up into the jagged high places, and it is burly enough, composed enough, planted enough and smooth enough to smash every line all the way back down, laughing the whole way. Hail the Evolution! The latest iteration of this legendary machine features an incredibly refined dw-Link suspension that stitches together the pedaling response and agility of the Trail 429 with the battle-hardened, EWS-proven, big terrain suspension and handling chops of the Firebird. MORE POP, LESS FILLING We took the most playful bike ever to manual the earth and poured Pop Rocks into a mouthful of Mountain Dew. And an inline shock makes sure the pop don't stop. Bantam frame and build weights, plus a tyrannically steep 77-degree seat tube angle mean the Following is even faster up than it is down… even if that flat out seems impossible. WIN UP. WIN DOWN. FOLLOW NO ONE. Too many bikes are chasing the same Reach horizon as everything gets numbed into aircraft-carrier lengths, and every bike uses the same 65-degree headtube angle—XC to Enduro+, hardtails included. You might as well just pick by color. Not us. For the bike that started the entire shred-trail 29 movement, we can't hit the mute button on loud, fast, and fun times. We need to let the volume roar and the rally car needs to claw after every extra-credit popportunity it can't help but hit. And now, the rally car drifts uphill too. In updating the Following, we've kept what makes it so special: lightning handling, shameless pop, and that uncanny ability to be there before you've even decided to go there. But we added in that die-hard XC determination with an over-the-pedals 77-degree seat tube angle. It'll climb, and climb, and climb. And just like the Following we love, it's first to the beer cooler. Always. To do this, we actually kept the wheelbase somewhat reasonable—1,177mm for a size medium. But we still needed to add to the Following's bounce off the walls enthusiasm so we're spec'ing inline rear shocks. Fear not, you can run piggyback shocks, but inlines are full of shamelessly pop. Yes, we've said pop a lot. We like pop. We spec RockShox Deluxe Ultimate RC Debonairs and Fox Float DPS Factory EVOLs and the ramp is irresistible—dig deep, engage boost, gap farther. In designing around SuperBoost+, it didn't just stiffen things at speed, it allowed us to oversize each cohesive piece within the structural assembly. With everything bigger, and Evil's renowned time and weather defying dual row, Klüberplex filled, angular contact bearings, it's a sustainable ecosystem designed to withstand the rainforest. It also kept our feverishly fast 430mm chainstays and strengthened the rear wheel's bracing angle. We did not shy away from the hammerheads—this is, after all, Evil's trail bike and we don't do anything halfass here. There's full-on lockout routing for the rear shock, you can run a zero-stack headset, and we offer 120mm true lightweight fork option—a Fox 34 Step-Cast. We went fully internal, tube-in-tube for tidy housings and seamless set up and we shrank the direct-injection carbon chainguide into a svelte modern design wonder. Those who want lighter still—yep, you can take it off. This puts it in full Strava-seek-and-destroy, overly fit pedaler territory, but this is a Following we're talking about, and we made sure the Following is every bit the skateboard of the skinny dirt, slasher of the hidden line, defier of categorization destroyer. It's the king of pop, more so than ever with an inline rear shock, now just with an additional 18mm of wheelbase and 25mm reach stability. It lost weight and gained strength—who doesn't want that? And just like the original Following, it can't be compared to anything, it's too far ahead—not even in sight—up and down.
