We are located on the river in downtown Salida, in the “Old Feed Store” built in 1903 – just look for the grey metal grain tower. We share our building with Seasons Cafe so we’ve got all the essential pre and post ride necessities – coffee, food and beer, parking, and bathrooms. We are open 7 days a week all year.
Since we opened our doors in Salida in 1999 we’ve worked tirelessly to make our shop one of the best in the United States. Absolute Bikes has always strived to be an integral part of the Salida community. When you spend money at Absolute Bikes you should feel good about the fact that a portion of all revenue goes right back into our community. We take it seriously.
We carry a full line of mountain bikes: Yeti, Pivot, Ibis, Rocky Mountain, Trek, Kona and Eriksen (custom build) – including 26, 27.5, and 29 wheel sizes. Plus, a great selection of commuter, cruiser, and BMX bikes from Electra, Pure Cycles, Haro and Kona. And don’t forget the kids – we have a bike for every stage of your growing rider! We have everything you need whether you want to ride around town, across the country, from Denver to Durango on the Colorado Trail, or from Banff to Antelope Wells on the Great Divide route. We are also well known for one of the most comprehensive demo programs at any bicycle shop in the USA!
We strive to provide the best service you’ve experienced through both our sales and service departments. Our shop includes a dedicated fit room to make sure that your bike fits your body perfectly, whether its a road bike or a mountain bike. Shop owner Shawn Gillis is a certified Master Bike Fitter and we have several other certified bike fitters on staff year-round.
In our service department, we offer fast, friendly, professional service and maintenance. Our head mechanic Scot Banks is a USA Cycling Certified and Licensed mechanic. We always have at least two mechanics working and no job is too big or too small – everything from fixing flats for neighborhood kids to conducting late night emergency repairs for racers in the Tour Divide Mountain Bike Race.
Stop in and say hi! We’ve got everything you need for your ride and look forward to meeting you.
