Salida is southwest of Denver and Colo Springs and west of Pueblo.
From Denver, driving time is about three hours. The most direct route is Hwy 285. But the route from I-70 to Copper Mountain, then South to Leadville on Hwy 91, and then South from Leadville on Hwy 24, continuing south on Hwy 285 can take nearly the same amount of driving time, depending on traffic and road conditions. Normally the route through Leadville takes a bit longer than the route utilizing Hwy 285 the whole way.
From Colorado Springs, driving time is about two hours. Two routes are about equally direct: one uses Hwy 24 to get to Hwy 285 near Buena Vista and then South to Salida, another uses Hwy 115 to get to Hwy 50 near Caņon City and then West to Salida.
